• Project Name: Rehabilitation of Adhaim Dam
• Location: Diyala Governorate, Iraq
• Total Cost: 4,989,885,000 Iraqi dinars
• Objective: Improve and develop the dam’s infrastructure to restore its strategic functionality and enhance water management and sustainability

Scope of Work

1. Gates preparation and rehabilitation: Replacing old gates and equipping them with modern equipment for efficient water flow control.
2. Hydraulic Power Unit preparation: Rehabilitating and equipping a modern hydraulic power unit to manage water flow smoothly and sustainably.
3. Electrical works: Preparing and rehabilitating electrical systems, including the installation of flow measurement devices.
4. Civil and mechanical works: Restoring and rehabilitating the dam’s mechanical structures and civil infrastructure.

Goals

• Improve the efficiency and sustainability of Al-Azim Dam.
• Secure the water supply for surrounding areas.
• Support local development and sustainable infrastructure in Diyala Governorate.

Work Locations and Activities

Intake Gate:

• Installation and operation of a hydraulic unit for the valve, including preparation, installation, and testing of 2 hydraulic cylinders.

Power and Irrigation:

• Preparation, installation, and operation of 2 hydraulic units for the valves, including cylinders.

Diversion Tunnel:

• Preparation, installation, and operation of a hydraulic unit for the valve, including preparation, installation, and testing of 2 hydraulic cylinders.
• Preparation, installation, and testing of an 80-ton and 30-ton crane.
• Installation of sensors for reading water levels upstream and downstream.
• Installation of sensors for measuring water flow.
